Two locations. Two names.

One mission: Taking care of you.

Connecting you with us

Meridian Medicine and Essential Wellness are two parts of a larger vision for health.  Having originally been a small clinic in the U-District opened in 1983 we’ve grown and evolved with Dr. Fahoum joining in 2004. She eventually purchased the practice and moved us to a larger, newer clinic at Northgate - on Meridian, hence the new name in 2018.  When her colleague Dr. Lipscomb moved back to the area in 2021, we grew again into the Arlington area and acquired Essential Wellness after the sudden passing of their colleague, Dr. Erica Schultz.  In honor of her, we kept her clinic’s name — and also now have the honor to serve the North Puget Sound with expanded services for all of our patents, their families and friends.  Our union also allows for our patients to reap the benefits of other practitioners’ skill sets via telemedicine or being seen at either location without having to re-establish care.

Personalized suggestions.

There are no 8-minute visits here.  Be seen and be heard.  Your provider will do a full intake, do necessary exams, order testing if indicated and help you start your journey toward wellness.

It’s old-fashioned, country doctor care with all the benefits of modern medicine & technology.

Pick the right treatment.

Health means the right nutrition and lifestyle recommendations for you.  It also means the right intervention, whether botanical or pharmaceutical or a combination depending on your needs and goals.

It’s your journey, we’re just the guides.

“Dr Mona offers the perfect balance of traditional and holistic medicine. We treated each issue I had with a combination of both. I love that she'll take time to listen about your life when dealing with stress to figure things out. This is the best doctor I have had and even though we moved 2 hours away I'll be staying with her.”

FAQs

Do you take my insurance?

Quite possibly, and if we don’t, many patients will see us out of network and we will supply a form to submit for reimbursement. Most of our providers are contracted with Regence, Premera, First Choice and United. That said — we ALWAYS recommend you call your insurance and specifically ask if YOUR PLAN covers the provider you schedule with.

Can I send labs and other services to insurance?

We strive to send what we can to insurance to help you keep the costs down, but we all have to understand that our system is based on ‘illness’, not ‘wellness’. There are services and certain labs that are not covered by insurance and have to be paid for out of pocket or with HSA/FSA funds. We promise to do our best to make sure you know about these before they happen!

Can you be my primary care doctor?

Absolutely, most of our providers act as PCPs for their patients, other times we’re the health specialists — whatever you need. We can keep you up to date with screenings, paps, mammograms, colonoscopies and manage your day to day health needs.

Can you prescribe medications?

Yes, most of our providers are also prescribers. Naturopathic physicians have a great scope of practice in Washington State, so we can help manage all your common medication needs and work with specialists for some of the more complex ones! Be advised, we DO NOT prescribe controlled substances like pain meds, stimulants and benzodiazepines.

Let us help you find the care that's right for you.
